Alysia Burgio

Welcome to my website!
My name is Alysia Burgio and I am pursuing a career as a multimedia journalist.

Here is a little back story:

I decided that I wanted to pursue broadcast journalism when I was in high school. I auditioned for the broadcasting course offered when I was a junior and senior and to my advantage, got accepted into the class. I learned the basics of video operation, how to operate a camera, create videos, and most importantly...how to be an on-air talent. This immediately sparked my interest in broadcasting and years later, I am still as passionate as ever! Currently, I am interning at WDIV Local 4 in Detroit and loving each and every day. The experience I am gaining is remarkable and I and so thankful I have gotten this opportunity. I graduate from Central Michigan University in August 2015 and cannot wait to enter into the broadcasting industry! I will be receiving a Bachelors of Applied Arts in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts with a minor in Communication.

During my undergrad:
Throughout my time at Central Michigan University, I have involved myself in many extra curricular activities that will only benefit me in my future career. One of those being News Central 34; a student run news station that is broadcasted live to four different counties. I have been a health reporter, entertainment reporter, and most recently...a producer. This has given me the opportunity to know how a real news station operates so I am prepared for future endeavors. Not only that, but I have been a co-producer for a couple television shows through CMU, been President of an organization known as the National Broadcasting Society that focuses primarily on networking with professionals in the industry, and been the host of my very own television show called "RSO in the Spotlight." All of these involvements have helped me gain experience, knowledge, and confidence that I will need for the broadcasting field.

What the future holds:

My hard work, dedication and passion are what sets me a part from any other candidates. I am driven and willing to to do the best that I can in any job I am given the opportunity to work for. I dream of becoming a television reporter/multimedia journalist and I am ready to enter into this world known as the broadcasting industry! Any employer that invests their time in me will not be disappointed and will have made the best decision.
